Race Results – Parwich Panoramic 5 & Piggs Trophy 10k – 1st/2nd August 2023

A couple more races this week, firstly on Tuesday in the Off Road Championship, Pascale Holden was up in the Peak District for the Parwich Panoramic 5 mile fell race – well done Pas!
“A fabulous evening for a race. 5 miles of fun running through the “gentler” ups and downs of the white peak. For the bargain price of £5! Great marshals and good company from the other runners. Thanks go to David Askew for the post race pint “

Then on Wednesday in the Road Championship it was once again time for the Piggs Trophy 10k. They’ve had some problems recently with organising this race, and could no longer hold it on the old route in Mickelover. Very well done to the Rolls Royce Harriers team who have kept the race going by finding a new home – our summer training location – Darley Park!

We had a really great turnout of 20 Striders, making up 20% of the field, and to cap it all our very own Andy MacEwen cruised home in 1st place! Brilliant running Andy! Well done to everyone who took part, the rain we had the previous week at the EVRC 4 mile held off, so it was pleasant conditions for the race (though it didn’t feel too pleasant on the 2nd lap – on our old friend the ‘Darley Parkrun’ hill!). Great performances Striders, on a tough course!
