It was another busy day of racing and charity running for 25 Striders running at 3 events today!
21 of the Striders running were at the Bolsover 10k, plus Kate Hughes doing her first 10k for many years, and Paul Phillips & Lyndsay Wiles as support crew – thanks very much for the cheers and pics both of you!
It was a great turnout from Striders and overall – with 700 runners finishing the race! Not an easy course due to it’s undulation and head-winds, but everyone put in a really good race to finish off the Road Championship season in style, with some also topping it off with a celebratory pub visit! Thanks to Steve Cartwright for letting me know Ian Crompton isn’t on the results and Stephen Wells wasn’t down as a Strider. Ian – let me know when they’ve sorted it and I’ll add you on. Well done everyone, a very enjoyable morning :)
Chris Halliday also managed to fit a race in today – the Sneyd Striders Christmas Pudding 10 mile! This race was a new one to me, so can’t tell you much apart from it’s just South of Cannock, towards Walsall! Well done Chris, cracking time that! Enjoy the Pud!
Then at Markeaton Park it was the Charity Santa Run, which raises money for Derby & Burton Hospital, Chesterfield Royal and Rainbows Hospice. The Striders I’m aware of were Luke Bremmer, who described it as “Rain, mud, puddles and more mud, fantastic.” :D and Chris Sharp, Gloria Lagou and family – well done all of you for taking part, raising money and getting wet and muddy in the process!
