National XC Championships 22nd February 2014

Eleven Striders made the short trip to Wollaton Park to take part in the National Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

In the U15 girls there was an excellent result for Clodagh Holmes who finished 188th in 18:34

In the U15 boys still recovering from a foot injury Edward Baxter also had a good run to finish in 302nd place in 18:16

The other 9 runners all ran in the senior men’s race and they came 47th out of 127 in the Senior Men’s 6 to count, 35th out of 56 in the Senior Men’s 9 to count and individually…

Apologies in getting the results out; we had a few technical problems in getting them and then time problems in compiling due to the number of participants, which is fantastic.

There are a number of age groups that have now been decided, but others are relying on the completion of the final event, as for the overall series 4 races must be completed.

We have had some challenges reading the names as we were working from a scanned document, so any errors could you please let us know.

Sneyd Striders Pud Run results 8th December 2013

Runners from Shelton Striders competed in their last championship race of the year on Sun 8 Dec. A 10 mile run organised by Sneyd Striders took place near Bloxwich in the West Midlands. The course was two laps, featuring the B4210, the A462, and underpasses / bridges of the M6. The weather was really rather nice for early December.

First back for the Striders was 25 – Shaun Cooper – 1:01:46

Followed by followed by Ian Crompton (V50) 66.15,
Pascale Holden, first lady in 75.30,
Steve Cartwright 80.02,
Steve Baxter (V45) 80.04,

Derby Runner Cross Country (3) Bagworth Results

Men & Ladies from Shelton Striders delivered a truly phenomenal performance in the Derby Runner Cross-Country League on Sun 1 Dec at Bagworth Heath, Leics. The team won the fixture, leaving 20 other local clubs, including Derby Tri and Hatton Darts, floundering.
After 3 fixtures, with 3 to go, the team are now first in the League. Separately, the men are 1st in Division 2, and Ladies 2nd in Division 1.
34 runners competed for the Striders, ranging from under 20s to over 60s.
