It was a lovely Autumn morning yesterday for our latest Striders Tourist trip at Long Eaton parkrun – and the Striders were out in force with 17 running and Ana & Charli supporting & taking pics, thanks!
Huge Congratulations to Paul Pearce for coming 4th place at the UK’s 13th fastest parkrun course! But it gets better – it was also Pauls PB & a Shelton Striders club record for MV40 5k! And all this while he is preparing for next weeks London Marathon! Absolutely awesome running mate, you’ll break that sub-17 soon I’m sure!
Long Eaton also saw a further 5 Striders getting PBs too, congratulations to Sam Kitchen, Liz Phillips, Dan Butcher, Tim Bentley & Lyndsay Butcher – fantastic running all of you, I know how hard you’ve all worked to get these, well done! :)
Elsewhere, we had another 11 Striders at 5 events. Martin Kerr romped home to another 1st place at Markeaton, 57 secs ahead of 2nd place! – well done mate!
Out and about doing their Tourist thing were: Paul Roome getting a brilliant 3rd place down at Minehead! Chris Halliday was up in Bestwood Village and got a 6th place! Amanda Wilson notched up her 65th parkrun location with a trip to Alderley Park, which is a relatively new parkrun on the outskirts of Macclesfield! Well done all of you :)
