A fantastic weekend of distance running was kicked off on Saturday, by Simon Goodall having a brilliant trail race, the Dambusters 10 mile! Sounds like a great race around Ladybower Reservoir! Simon had an enjoyable race and was glad to be back out racing again – well done and a great run Simon!
Then today at Clowne Half Marathon, Martin Braithwaite, who has recently joined Striders, had his first race as a Strider! Well done Martin, who took over 6 minutes off his PB, wow! By all accounts that is a tough race you did there today, fantastic achievement and welcome to Striders Martin!
Finally, in Derby it was time for the very popular 10 mile race today, which is also on our Striders Road Championships! It was a cracking turnout from the folks in Blue & White, both running (27 of us!) and lot’s of lovely volunteers who spent hours making sure everything ran smoothly, and it did so thank you all! We also had Striders out on the course supporting and snapping pics, so again thanks very much! It was a great morning, lots of PBs from our Striders gang (sorry too many to remember!) and Hannah Cartwrights first ever 10 mile race before heading back to Uni in Lincoln this afternoon, brilliant Hannah, now that’s commitment! :D
Well done to you all, take some time to recover now folks! Not too long mind, we have track on Wednesday ;)
