Sam Pearch from Shelton Striders completed a tremendous run in the Lecester marathon on Sun 13 Oct 2013. He came 3rd overall in a new personal best of 2 hrs 39 Mins 51 sec. This time earns Sam an elite entry into next year’s London marathon.
Strider Sean Cooper also completed the course in under 3 hours (2:58).

I believe that Rachel Farrow was the only Strider in the Marathon this year and training has been going well with more than 20 minutes off her first marathon time she was back in in exactly 4:04, well done super effort.
They have been at it again. Silke and her dog Cara were 4th in their category at the Canix event at Cannock Chase.

Kenny Malton and Marcel were the only Striders at this English Fell Championship race around the Edale Skyline, postponed by snow in March. With 22miles and 4500ft of ascent this race is already known to be one of the toughest races in the peaks. It didn’t surprise us that it was actually tougher than expected probably due to the heat and not rain. So in 39th Kenny Malton 3hr 17, followed in by Marcel in 55th in 3hr 26. Awesome and very well organised event by Deak Peak Fell Runners.

Four Striders at this event. First back was Andy Bradley 70th in 50.52, First lady and 2nd strider was Rachel Farrow 71st in 50.52. 90th in 53.38 was the infamous Dave Keegan followed in by Don Robey in 144th in 62.15. Well done all.
Designed for those wanting a shorter option (as opposed to the 100km alternative), and is a great stepping stone into the world of Ultra running, the organisers words not mine. With 6000ft feet off ascent this is some challenge, two crazy striders (not the normal suspects) decided to have a go. The rest of us use cars.
