Yesterday all of our Striders stayed local for their weekly Parkrun, mainly thanks to our Championship fixture at Alvaston, where we had 30 runners & Steve Cartwright, Jerry Evans, Louise Hart & myself out marshalling. A fantastic turnout folks and thanks very much to Birthday girl Charli Land for bringing lovely cakes which were much appreciated by us all!
We also had 4 Striders running at Markeaton and Martin Kerr volunteering too, well done all!
Congratulations once again to Jamie Atkinson who had a brilliant run at Alvaston getting his PB & breaking the Club Record for MV55 – setting the bar high again! It was a great battle up top with Paul Pearce & Matt Bailey close together too, with Paul ultimately getting 2nd place, Matt 3rd and Jamie 4th, followed not too far behind in 8th by Kenny Malton and his buggy training partner Finlay! Mum Rachel Farrow was also out enjoying her Parkrun too, well done Rach!
It was also a fantastic day for Team Sullivan, with both Dave Sullivan and Sharon Sullivan both getting PBs! Over at Markeaton Chris Halliday also got his PB, moving him ever closer to his Holy Grail of sub 20! Brilliant running all of you!
