During the week we had Striders out at races that some of us may not necessarily know about. A new Strider, Hannah Carvell, took on the challenging Crich Monument Race on July 13, which obviously has the hill climb in it. 5 Striders (Pascale Holden, Denise Robertson, Naimah Hameed, Daniel Butcher and Lyndsay Butcher) were at Brooksies Bash a day later. This countryside trail race is a 10 miler and challenging, but is great for newbies wanting to give an off-road event a go. Draycote was the place to be on Saturday 20th July for 4 Striders. This was the Draycote Water Running Festival, with Dave Sullivan and Sharon Sullivan taking on the 5k, whilst Chris Sharp and Denise Robertson completed the 10k.
