On Friday evening it was time for the latest event in our Off Road Championships, the Fractured Marathon, held around the beautful Calke Abbey. This is a 5 hour event where solo runners or teams aim to complete as many of the 10 x 2.6 mile laps in that time, with each lap starting every half hour on the half hour – Very well done to the 2 Striders that ran solo, Pascale Holden & Ray Evans! We also had Denise Robertson volunteering as a marshall, thanks Denise!
Pas & Ray both did really well, doing 7 & 5 laps respectively (which is 18.2 & 13 miles!). Pas hadn’t done more than 13 miles for the last few months so was really happy with how she did – great work both of you! :)
It sounds like a really fun evening, with lots of friends and ex-Striders running and helping out too – well done everyone involved!
