This week it was our Striders Parkrun Championship at Alvaston, well done to the 24 runners who took part there. In total we had 35 Striders at 5 events!
Volunteering at Alvaston were David Green and Denise Robertson (& Ruby). Richie Wheatcroft was also volunteering at Shipley – thanks for the support folks!
No PBs this week, but some great performances with Paul Roome topping the Striders list at Alvaston and coming in sub-20 in the process! Great to see Rachel Farrow and Sam James bringing their times back down again! Well done to Eamonn Hughes & Paul Roome snapping pictures of everyone doing their thing – great pics chaps!
Elsewhere Martin Kerr got the highest age grade with his latest 1st place a Markeaton and Ian Bell is really getting back to form. Paul Phillips also got another parkrun under his belt in his injury recovery – brilliant Paul!
We had some more first timers at tourist parkruns this week, with Chris Sharp and Gloria Lagou trying out Hanley, in Stoke. A few of us made a trip to Clifton to have a go at their grassy parkrun, which was only the 5th event on this year due to the boggy/flooded nature of their course – we had a lot of fun in the mud – thank you for the company Amanda Wilson, Hazel Baxter & Sue Kinross! Naimah Hameed was also out on her travels, having her first go at Battlestead Croft!
