Race Results – Dave Denton Midweek 1 mile/5k – 20th Sept 2023

Last night we had 6 Striders at the Alvaston & Boulton Cricket Club on Raynesway, for the start of this years Dave Denton Midweek Races (in it’s 34th season!). For anyone that doesn’t know, it’s a series of 8 events held once a month and comprises a 1 mile race at 7pm and a 5k race at 7.20pm – you get both races included for a bargain price of £5! (and It’s a fast route up and down the cycle path on Raynesway!)

Congratulations to Liz Phillips who broke the Striders Club Record in the 1 mile for her Cat VF55! Liz wasn’t far off breaking the 5k record too (which she currently holds :D ), that may well happen as the series progresses!

Well done to Dave Keegan too, who ran the 1 mile then helped out marshalling and cheering us on for the 5k!
