The Great British Summertime delivered us some heavy rain last night in Breaston, but this didn’t put off 206 runners of which 13 were Striders! Huge thanks to our lovely Striders cheerleading team who came down to support, even though they had wanted to run, but the race sold out before the on the night sales. Amanda Wilson, Hazel Baxter & Tim Stokes – thank you so much – it was very much appreciated that you came down and stood in the pouring rain so you could cheer us on! (and look after our gear!). I’m glad you had the Navigation Inn next to the race start/finish, so the refreshments helped you out too, looks like you all enjoyed it :D
The heavy rain actually didn’t detract from the race itself, it’s a fast one once you get past mile 2, with everyone enjoying it (I think!) and putting in great performances on the undulating course, part road, part old canal path – well done everyone! A really fun, albeit ‘damp’ night was had by all :)
