Another lovely warm Saturday morning saw 33 Striders parkrunning at 8 events, with Margaret Cowling, Eamonn Hughes, Ray Evans & Matthew Glazier all supporting the runners by volunteering at Alvaston – great job folks!
Liam Regan was up in Leeds at Roundhay Park and continued his great form by coming in 2nd place on his first go at the course! Whilst at Alvaston, the temperature was up and so was the number of runners, due to other local cancellations, but this didn’t stop Henry Lucas – and he was the only Strider out of 20 to get his PB! Well done lads great running!
We had some more great tourism going on too, with Liz & Paul Phillips over at Sherwood Pines (Liz wasn’t planning on running but thought she’d best make sure Paul didn’t get lost in the forest! haha). Samantha James and Tim Spate were in Woolacombe so had a run in the dunes at one of the toughest UK parkruns, well done both!
Neil Hancock went over to Ashbourne Rec and got his PB too, well done Chief! Naimah Hameed was way up in Edinburgh and had her first go at Holyrood parkrun, and Chris Halliday had his first go at Abbey Park, just north of Leicester!
Well done all of you, next week we have our latest Striders Tourist Trip, this time it’s at Brierley Forest so it should be a new one for quite a few of us! Quite easy to get too from the M1/A38 (fairly close to the McArthurGlen shopping outlet). Hopefully see lots of Blue & White there!
