It was a lovely sunny morning for our latest Striders Parkrun Championship fixture at Alvaston yesterday and we had a massive 33 Striders running there! We also had fantastic support from Louise Hart, Jamie Atkinson, Dave Keegan, and Ray Evans, with Eamonn Hughes & Lyndsay Butcher both taking some brilliant photos – thanks all of you!
We had 4 Striders coming in the top 10 – Jonny Branch with a very well earned 1st place, Matt Bailey and Liam Regan having a good battle for 4th & 5th place, which Matt just edged by 1 second – but it helped Liam to get his PB, fantastic! Close behind, coming in just 9 seconds later for 6th place was Paul Pearce!
We also had Brian Thomas getting his course PB, and getting closer to his old times again, and Henry Lucas doing his second ever Parkrun, and beating last weeks time for his first PB, well done Henry!
Fantastic turnout and team atmosphere once again, only hours after the Hairy Helmet shenanigans too! Top running Striders it was good to see you all pushing each other on and having fun in the sun :D
Elsewhere, tourism-wise we had Chris Halliday at Kingsbury Water near Birmingham, and getting a PB!
Then there were Striders having a first go at some new Parkruns – Hazel Baxter at Dishley, James Realey at Hafan Pwllheli in North-West Wales and Charli Land & Rich Jackson at Chopwell Wood near Newcastle!
Well done everyone, remember we have our next Striders Tourist Trip at Brierley Forest in 2 weeks time on 25th June!
