One of the highlights in Derbys’ race calendar is always the Ramathon, the famous race that was first staged as a full marathon in 1983 (some of us remember watching it on Harvey Road as kids! I think it started and finished at Moorways track). It did take an 18 year break, returning in 2014 as a Half Marathon, and has been a really popular race ever since.
We had lots of Striders running the Ramathon Half today, plus almost the same amount running the increasingly popular Ram 5 mile, which takes place at the same time (started 15 mins after the Half). It’s a great idea having the 5 mile option too!
Brilliant running all of you and thank you to everyone who came out to volunteer/marshall/support as well, it was fantastic to see so many familiar smiley faces out there. Too many people to mention so here’s a big collective WELL DONE STRIDERS & FAMILIES!!! :D
(PS. Hope I’ve not missed anyone on the Ram 5 mile, they didn’t put the club on the results, so had to manually check!)
