The fact it was New Years Day didn’t deter 24 parkrunning Striders at 4 events and our unofficial ‘Photographer of the Year’ & supporter Eamonn Hughes from volunteering at Markeaton! Thanks very much for all of your support and pics Eamonn, we really enjoy seeing them :D
Of the 24 runners 18 of us were at Markeaton for a surprisingly mild start to the year. Congratulations to Andy MacEwen who took 1st place! Setting the standards high for 2023 Andy, brilliant mate! Congratulations too to Lyndsay Wiles who got her PB, well done Lyndsay a great start to the year!
Chris Halliday also got his PB at Poolsbrook (near Chesterfield), Hazel Baxter had her first go at Markeaton, as did Stephen Hawkins at Long Eaton & Simon Goodall at Conkers – well done all of you!
Remember we have our next fixture of the Derby/Staffs Cross Country (XC) at Allestree Park next Sunday (8th), hope to see lots of you there to have a play in the mud! Tim Bentley and I may also see some of you at the Notts AAA XC Champs, at Markeaton Park (the day before!!)
