32 parkrunning Striders finished 2022 off in style with runs at 6 events! We also had Luke Bremmer & Ray Evans once again volunteering at Alvaston, fantastic chaps – thanks to you and all the other volunteers for making it happen every week, it’s much appreciated! This was even more impressive, given the heavy rain we all woke up to, I think more than a few of us were tempted to stay in bed :D
At Markeaton, Martin Kerr capped a fantastic year by taking 1st place once again, with Andy Macewen coming in a 3rd place – brilliant running both of you!
A few of us went over to a very wet and muddy Beeston, tricky conditions which unfortunately caused Alex Hall to take a couple of tumbles – in her words a new PB for number of falls! Thankfully Alex was ok, but not sure what happened with your name on the results? Hope you’ve recovered now :)
Also at Beeston, we had 4 eager Cartwrights, with Sally & Hannah both getting their PBs & Poppy their beautiful black Labrador doing her first ever parkrun with Dad Steve! Well done all of you, amazing to get PBs in those conditions!!
Elsewhere, Andrew Miller also capped off a fantastic year with a 9th place at Alvaston! Well done Andy! It was good to see James Cunningham on the results at Long Eaton & Chris Halliday did yet another new Parkrun with a trip to Market Harborough, whilst Paul Roome also had a first go at Newark!
