Race Results – Peak District Ultras – 2nd & 3rd September 2022

A massive congratulations to Emma Roe for the amazing achievement of not only running the Millstone 100 mile Ultra, but for finishing joint 6th place and joint 1st Lady! (running with Lisa Benbow – well done too Lisa!).

It’s impossible for me to comprehend how difficult this must’ve been and how it must feel, so I’ll share with you Emma’s own words (I didn’t have to censor any of it either – almost, but not quite!!) 🤣

What can I say about this weekend? Those who know me know I’m not generally lost for words, but it’s taken a little while for me to get my head around what just occurred!
100 miles (104 🙄)
16,500 feet
32 hours 33 mins
1st joint lady with the best running buddy to put up with me for the said 32 hours 33 mins Lisa Benbow
6th overall out of 28 starters.
Who ever thinks the Peak District isn’t tough like the Lake District has never done this race. It certainly bites back. Endless gnarly climbs and descents in the Dark Peak and whoever invented Lose Hill can really do one…. the trig received the finger once we got up there 🤣.
Looking forward to the easier White Peak for the 2nd half…. HA! Here… have 243 massive stiles that should sort your non-functioning quads out a right treat 🤬.
The marshalls and check points are truly amazing… fine dining style service throughout whilst encouraging you onwards.
Lisa you were amazing to run with, it wasn’t planned it just happened and we kept each other going so a win win (win). Sorry I laughed at you when you fell in the nettles off one of the aforementioned glorious stiles 🤭
Absolutely loved the race. Thank you 😊
Peak Running you truly deliver on every level.

I must say that we also had two Striders Sam Pearch & Julie Corby who unfortunately didn’t finish their races, I’m sorry to hear this folks, hope you are both ok and recovering well. All our best wishes. They did however complete a significant mileage, with Sam doing almost 29 miles (4256 ft of ascent!) and Julie 16.5 miles! (2434 ft of ascent!) Absolutely fantastic what they achieved in their races, well done both of you, be proud of what you did 😊
