Race Results – Potters ‘arf Marathon, Hull 10k, Aldridge 10k – 12th June 2022

Some excellent racing went on in Striderland yesterday, with Liz Phillips, Alex Hall & Steve Cartwright heading over Stoke way for the Hanley Potters ‘arf marathon – Liz ran the full 13.1 and did a brilliant time, especially considering she hasn’t ran more than 8 miles in recent weeks, well done Liz!
Alex & Steve both did 2 legs of the relay each, which gave them both a nice 10k+ workout to make up the ‘arf – well done all of you, I noticed one of the hills was named ‘heartbreak hill’ I bet that was fun at mile 11! Steve soon managed to re-fuel though – having a crafty pint after handing the baton to Alex!!

Up in Yorkshire, Paul Pearce & Ana Hagan visited Pauls sister and managed to sneak in the Hull 10k, Tim Bentley was also making his regular trip up there! Paul put in an outstanding performance and came in 13th place! (out of 1664!!) I think this may also be his 10k pb too? (Sorry Paul, we were talking about this on Saturday too but can’t remember!!!), well done mate, brilliant run. Well done Ana and Tim too – Ana doing her 2nd race for Striders and the 2nd of the weekend, brilliant! Tim was pleased with his stonking 58:22, he’s come a long way since all those injury woes, very pleased for you Tim!

Last but certainly not least, Chris Halliday did yet another 10k, he’s getting lot’s in at the moment! This time down in Aldridge, he said it was a tough one and it was nice of them to put a hill on grass for the final 400m! Well done Chris, a cracking time especially after the Alvaston parkrun PB the day before, you’re on fire! [makes a note to try and recruit Chris to Cross Country this winter :) ]
