Another glorious Saturday morning and the Striders were out in force again. 40 Striders took part in 11 different Parkruns – with one International event!
We had just 2 PB’s this week, 1 at Alvaston and 1 at Markeaton.
Henry Lucas is at it again, taking 2 seconds off his PB at Markeaton to clock 24:22, whilst Simon Goodall took an impressive 25 seconds off his PB recording 21:31. Also at Alvaston, Striders came first and second in age grading – Harry Sloan came first with Brian Thomas only a fraction behind in second place.
For the second week in a row we had 7 Striders making first time appearances at new courses. Steve and Sally Cartwright were on the road again visiting Endcliffe (which by the way had 820 runners – that’s some Parkrun). James Realey was at Eden Project, Amanda Jackson went to Clumber, Paul Philips visited Wepre, and Richard Jackson and Charlotte Land were at Beacon Hill. Amanda Wilson represented Striders and GB at Hasenheide Parkrun which is to be found in Berlin Germany!
As usual we also had Striders at Long Eaton, Shipley and Conkers.
Conditions are looking promising for this coming weekend so get out there and enjoy!
