Parkrun Results – 27th April 2024

This weekend we had 33 Striders running at 8 different events. We also had Dave Keegan, Denise Robertson (& Ruby) volunteering at Alvaston – thanks very much folks!

It was our Striders tourist week, so well done to Richard Jackson, Matt Henning & Amanda Jackson for doing Long Eaton – the numbers were down there due to a lot of us descending on Markeaton for Paul Pearce & his Rolls Royce friends doing a charity fund raiser. There were lots of us there too, Andrew Miller isn’t on the results due to a mix up with tokens, but we can confirm he was definately there as he did his long run there and back! He wasn’t the only one long-running, as Hazel Baxter did the same – brilliant well done both!! Great morning there, hopefully a lot of money was raised, well done Paul :)

While we’re on Markeaton, Jonny Branch & Martin Kerr battled it out with Jonny getting his PB and 2nd place, and just behind Martin evened it up by pipping him on Age Grade ;)
Lovely to see lots of Striders everywhere you turned, well done everyone!

Elsewhere, at Alvaston we had Dave Thornton come in first Strider home, Lyndsay Wiles had family visiting, so ran Alvaston with her 84 year old Uncle Kenneth – wow that’s incredible well done Uncle K!

We had some more cracking Tourism too, with James Realey giving me a headache by doing ‘parkrun Krakow’ in Poland, (a tricky one for processing haha). I’m sure that’s nothing compared to the headaches him and his mates will be having – hope you’re having a great weekend James :)

For the second weekend in a row, Jersey Farm near St Albans was graced with Striders presence!! Gloria Lagou & Chris Sharp had a lovely time down there in the mud and trails – well done both, glad you enjoyed it!

We also had Julie Corby having her first go at the lovely looking Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, looks beautiful from your pics Julie, hope you had fun despite the freezing conditions up there!
