It was a big weekend in Derby with the 10k on Sunday, however this didn’t deter 26 Striders running at 5 different events! Excellent volunteering support also came from Margaret Cowling, Eamonn Hughes & Denise Robertson (& Ruby) at Alvaston, and Sue Kinross & Tim Stokes at Markeaton – thanks folks!
It was time for our latest Striders tourist trip, at Watermead in Leicestershire, which thankfully went ahead this time! Well done to Charli Land for organising and running it with Amanda Jackson and Chris Sharp (who did his first time there!). Hopefully there will be more people for the next one, location TBC :)
No PBs this week, but well done to Richie Wheatcroft for his 1st in Age Cat VM55 at his local parkrun, Shipley, and Pascale Holden for getting 1st in her Age Cat FV50 (and 2nd lady) at Alvaston – great running both of you!
It’s great to see Tim Bentley back parkrunning again after having only done Cross Country in recent weeks/months, well done Timbo!
We also had a lone Strider out notching up another new location – well done to Sally Cartwright for running at Queen Elizabeth parkrun in Horndean (East of Southampton), whilst back home visiting her Mum, hope you had a fun weekend Sal! :)
