This week it was our first Striders tourist outing for 2024! For those who don’t know, we do these on the last Saturday of every month. They are brilliantly organised by Charli Land & her magic spinner, that randomly picks the next one we do! We have lots of local-ish Parkruns on the spinner, usually within 30-45 mins drive, it’s a great way to get us all together, have fun, and try out some different and favorite Parkruns :)
This month it was a return to the lovely Shipley Country Park, which is always a pleasure, very friendly with fantastic support from the volunteers. We had a good turnout, especially considering some races tomorrow, so well done to Richard Jackson, Liz Phillips, Lyndsay Wiles, Eamonn Hughes, Matt Henning, Charli Land & Amanda Jackson! Amanda also got her course PB! Fantastic running Amanda! It was a great morning, thanks everyone, and not forgetting thanks to Eamonn Hughes for all of his brilliant pics :D
Elsewhere, we had Denise Robertson with daughter Ruby volunteering at Alvaston, marshalling at her favourite ‘Piggy Hill’ spot (anyone like us, who grew up in the 70s around there will probably know it as this :D ) – thanks and well done Denise & Ruby!
A couple more PBs to report – massive well done to Henry Lucas who got his PB at Markeaton! Fantastic running Henry and well done to Dad Andy for his pacing, great work lads! Liam Regan also got his PB for a second successive week at Alvaston – absolutley flying Liam, well done!
Also out and about trying new Parkruns, we had Chris Sharp, who took on Belton House in Grantham!
