An unusually warm October morning saw 31 Striders parkrunning at 6 events, with a very healthy turnout of volunteers, some of which were pacing at Alvaston and Long Eaton – great work everyone, thanks very much!

PB’s were thin on the ground this week, but the running as impressive as ever – with Richie Wheatcroft getting his course PB at Long Eaton, and with it sneaking back to sub-20! Great running Richie, you’re on a roll at the moment, all this marathon training is paying off on the shorter runs too! At Alvaston, Daniel Butcher was down to support and managed to get lots of pics of Striders in action – well done Dan! :)
Our Striders Tourist of the Week goes to Hannah Cartwright, who has gone back to Uni in Lincoln, but has also carried on her great running form from the summer holiday, and took on her now local Yarborough Leisure Centre Parkrun, which is just North of Lincoln city centre – well done Hannah and good luck with the studies :D
We also had Chris Halliday doing his Striders Tourist recce at the almost brand new Sence Valley Parkrun (only the 3rd event!), which is near Ibstock in Leicestershire! Look forward to hearing about this one Chris, I hope you managed to write a food review for Steve Cartwright!! ;D
Always great to see a new Parkrun cropping up – it may have to be put on our Tourist Spinner Charli Land!?
