What an absolutely brilliant morning and turnout at the Sinfin 5 mile today – a brand new race organised by our friends at Sinfin RC. It was a humid start which then developed into sunshine, making it a very warm race! The location was great – in and around Sinfin Moor Park and it was a cracking, fast course (too fast at the start for some of us!! haha). We had a massive 30 Striders running plus lots out on the course supporting and picture taking – thanks very much folks!
Some amazing results here, firstly Kenny Malton was 1st Strider home in 7th position overall. Then we had 4 Age Category 1st places too! These were: Brian Thomas, Jerry Evans, Liz Phillips & Paul Webster! Fantastic running all!
But most of all, I think it was one of the best atmosphere’s for a race for a while, smiling Striders everywhere you looked (probably thanks to the superb cakes provided by Paul Pearce and Anastasia Hagan-Pearce!!!). Great organisation by Sinfin, so thanks very much to everyone involved! Hopefully see you again next year!
