A beautiful sunny spring morning saw 29 Striders running at 8 events, with Dave Keegan, Ian Crompton & Ray Evans all doing a wonderful job and volunteering again at Alvaston, thanks chaps!
At Alvaston, Liam Regan came in a brilliant 3rd place and Eamonn Hughes continued his cracking comeback by knocking 14 secs off his time from last week, fantastic running mate, really pleased it’s going well again :)
At Markeaton they were celebrating their 10th Birthday (a first few years of this having been at the superbly challenging Darley course!). It looked like everyone had a brilliant morning, unfortunately they had a problem with the results, so all runners had to be put at 59:59, but nevermind, these things happen – well done for all the volunteers and the Event Directors for spending so much of their Sunday trying to sort it all out. Very much appreciated folks :)
Tourist wise we had a couple of people trying new courses – Hazel Baxter at Forest Rec ground, Chris Halliday at Sutton Park, Charli Land & Rich Jackson at Beacon Hill! A couple of potential spinner locations there maybe! We also had Kenny Malton down at Fulham Palace, and Amanda Jackson up at her home town parkrun at the Cinder Track, Whitby, well done all of you!
It’s Striders Tourist Trip Time again next week! This time we’re not going far – just off to the excellent Shipley Parkrun, so hopefully we’ll have a big Striders presence – let’s have all our Striders kits on for this one folks! :D
