This week we had a total of 37 Striders running, with 29 of these at Alvaston for our Parkrun Championship fixture! We also had lovely Strider volunteers at Alvaston – Hazel Baxter, Louise Hart, Charli Land & Lyndsay Wiles all doing a grand job (Lyndsay managed some great pics too!), thanks very much all of you!
It was brilliant to see so many Striders out yet again for this event, believe it or not we didn’t have a single PB at Alvaston, not that it matters as everyone looked like they thoroughly enjoyed it! Great run from Kenny Malton getting 6th place and sub-19 whilst pushing a quickly-growing Finlay in the buggy, impressive stuff!
Thanks very much to Amanda Jackson for bringing along the post-run cakes and to our photographer Eamonn Hughes for his great pics as ever. It was also really great to see Eamonn enjoying his run, he’s on a roll at the moment and ran his best parkrun since before covid, brilliant mate well done!
Elsewhere, at Markeaton Martin Kerr did what he does best with another 1st place! Tourist-wise we had Matt Glazier up North for the Aintree Racing weekend and doing his first run at his original home parkrun in Chester! Chris Halliday did his first run at Telford, James Realey ran at Tooting Common in South London again and managed his PB, great running James!
Well done all of you, remember we have our Striders Tourist Trip on 29th April, the short trip to the excellent Shipley parkrun :)
