This week we had 29 Striders running at 5 parkruns, despite the heatwave we are currently in! Well done all!
It was the latest round in the Striders Parkrun Championship at Alvaston, with a fantastic turnout of 22 runners, we also had Paul Phillips, Louise Hart, Lyndsay Wiles and Ray Evans who all helped make it possible by volunteering, thanks very much folks!
Unsurprisingly in this heat there were no PBs this week, however this didn’t stop Martin Kerr getting 1st at Markeaton and Paul Pearce 2nd at Alvaston! Well done chaps!
We had some interesting Tourist trips this weekend too, all of which were new for these lucky Striders: Amanda Wilson was in the Cotswolds for Evesham, Pascale Holden in Cornwall on holiday and took in Heartlands, while Paul Roome tried out the new-ish parkrun in Uttoxeter, Bramshall Road! (another potential Striders tourist trip I think!)
Our next Tourist trip is on the 27th August at Conkers, which is a cracking parkrun if you’ve not done before!
