Always a great local race held by Rolls Royce Harriers RC, the Piggs Trophy 10k is a notoriously tough one to pace correctly. The first section leading to the old Railway path (approx 3.5 – 4 miles) is an overall downward gradient, leading to many of us over the years ‘going out at 5k pace’ (or quicker!), only to suffer on the gradual uphill path to the finish!!
This year we had 13 Striders running and Dan Butcher on photographer duty, thanks Dan! (and Lyndsay too if you were there!). Thanks to everyone who forwarded me copies of the results. In the end I took them directly from the RunBritain website, as I thought it would be good to see some of the other stats it gives (Season Best SB, and PB).
Congratulations to everyone, especially Jonny Branch for a brilliant 9th place run, getting his PB in the process! Matt Bailey and Dave Turley both got SBs too, well done! Great running all!
