A fantastic 35 Striders took part in a Parkrun this weekend, with 29 of them running at Alvaston for the latest Striders Parkrun Championship! We had 6 volunteers there too, so big thanks to Sally Cartwright, Eamonn Hughes, Dave Keegan, Angela Monk, Paul Phillips & Sean Phillips, brilliant work Team Striders!
On the PB podium this week were:
Andrew Miller (very nice 19:25 Andrew!)
Gerrard Moss (a first timer and got an 81.89% age grade!!)
Brian Thomas (a course PB but nowhere near his overall 5k pb I’m sure!)
Liz Phillips (in a lightning fast 22:33 which is her course PB and her age category PB which also breaks her own FV50 Club Record – congratulations Liz that’s amazing!!)

Well done everyone for making the Championship fixture such a success yet again, and for celebrating Alex Halls 100th Parkrun and Jane Foulkes first in her shiny new FV50 category – with cake – obviously, it’s the Striders way! :)

Paul Roome had a first crack at Ashbourne Rec Parkrun (on only it’s 2nd ever event!) and reported it was a good course and would recommend it, thanks Paul! Maybe we’ll add that to the Tourist wheel at some point! :)
