This weekend, our 2nd Parkrun tourist event was at Rushcliffe in Notts, and saw 14 Striders running and Lyndsay Butcher supporting & picture taking – thanks Lyndsay! What a beautiful setting at Rushcliffe Country park – it was a brilliant morning and the warmest so far this year, a real team atmosphere as everyone supported each other and had drinks in the sun afterwards.
Shaun Cooper was first Strider in with a brilliant sub 19 run (not sure exactly what time as he forgot to stop his watch and doesn’t have a parkrun barcode!!) great running though Shaun! 10 out of us at Rushcliffe it was their first run there, always good to try a new one!
Elsewhere we had lots of Striders at other Parkruns, including Naimah Hameed doing her first at Markeaton and Paul Roome at the Monsal Trail, after camping out there I believe! Well done everyone and see you all at the next Parkrun Championship event on 9th April at Alvaston – a great way to warm up for the Derby 10k the following day ;)
