Two days, two identical events. A 3.28 mile circuit to run as many times as you want or can in a six hour window.
Two Striders went along to day 1. Both had a target distance they had set themselves.
Dean Ward went along aiming for a half marathon distance on this flat route as he returns from injury. He achieved it in a time of 2:00:49.
Sam Pearch went out to cover 40 miles as he builds up his prep for next year’s JOGLE. He also achieved his target in a time of 5:25:05 and then found that he had gone further than anyone else and won the event as a result.
Day 2 saw just Sam from the Striders taking the start with an ambition to repeat the previous day’s distance but at a slower pace. Once again he achieved what he set out to do and finished his 40 miles in 5:27:34 – nearly a full two and a half minutes slower! Once again he won the day although one other runner covered the same distance but 18 minutes slower.
Fantastic running guys!
