Chris Sharp ventured down the A52 (you can insert your own comments here – the dark side, or the promised land) and completed the Robin Hood Half Marathon in 2:30:30.

And last, but by no means least Patrick Munro completed the Ilam 3 Peaks and kindly provided this write up:

I thought I’d do a wee write up of the Ilam 3 Peaks race. I was the only Strider there unfortunately 😔. It was a beautiful morning in the equally beautiful setting of Ilam Hall. I got there in good time and headed to registration. The sign outside said there was no compulsory kit today. So I returned to the car to ditch the bumbag with ‘all the gear’.
At registration, I could see the volunteers setting out the cakes for the finishers in the school hall. They looked delicious – all homemade. What more motivation did I need?
The race started straight uphill – I walked the whole way up the first hill. I think that decision paid off – by the top I was passing people who had maybe been less cautious. The downhills were steep and I’m the first to admit I’m not the greatest on steep downhills (i put it down to a high centre of gravity – its the physics fault). Loads of folk came past me. I thought – I’ll get them on the flat. It turns out there was no flat 🤔.
By the time we got to the climb up Thorpe Cloud, the walkers were out and about, looking slightly mystified but happy to enthusiastically cheer us on. Following the last descent there was about a kilometer of free running in the whole 4 miles. A crowd had gathered at the finish to cheer us in which is always nice and it seemed the whole field had stayed to clap the last few runners in.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable morning, which at £14, was a bargain.
Oh – and the cake. I nearly forgot. I went for a massive slice of apple and date cake, washed down with a mug of tea 😋.
Top morning!
