Well it was cold and damp, but not much breeze so was it a day for PB’s? It turns out it was!
34 Striders braved the cold and visited a total of 7 different venues. We had 4 First Timers, and 3 PB’s.
Liam Regan continued to chip away at his pb and reduced it by a further 2 seconds to 18:02 at Markeaton. Come on Liam another 3 seconds and you’ll join the sub 18 club. Meanwhile at our other local run Maria Gamero took 24 seconds of her PB to clock a time of 22:02. Over at Long Eaton, Hannah Cartwright smashed her PB by 2 minutes 8 seconds and was only 5 seconds off going sub 30. Well done to all 3 of you.
So on to the First Timers. Paul James Roome and Chris Sharp (another one on to the list eh Chris?) visited the newly formed Black Rocks, which is not hilly by the way. Amanda Wilson was at Ferry Meadows, which is in Peterborough, and finally Rob Higson attended Beacon Hill in Loughborough for the first time.
The cool weather looks set for another couple of weeks, so let’s see if this continues to suit runners in search of a PB!
Friday 21st February is presentation night at Littleover Social Club. It’s always a great night to catch up with fellow Striders at a social event, and celebrate everyone’s achievements.
If you are planning on attending can you please purchase your tickets before this Friday, 14th February, as we need to confirm numbers with the caterers – many thanks.
