Better late than never – technical issuer fixed, thanks Richard Tissington.
So it was the 20th Anniversary for Parkrun on Saturday, and there are some impressive statistics. In total on Saturday there were 336, 627 runners being supported by 45, 867 volunteers. For our local Parkruns Alvaston has had 203 events, with 50332 finishes from 10865 runners supported by 783 volunteers. At Markeaton it’s 466 events, 156,020 from 23, 629 runners supported by 1554 volunteers.
On to this week’s results. 33 Striders visited 8 different Parkruns. Unfortunately we had no PBs to celebrate the anniversary, but we did have 7 First Timers. Lucy-Anna Boyd visited Norwich, whilst Chris Sharp was at Epworth Equestrian. Richard Tissington, Hazel Baxter and Amanda Wilson were at Quakers Walk, and Dave and Sharon Sullivan took on Newtownabbey. We also had representation at Alvaston, Markeaton, Wollaton Hall and Long Eaton.
On to some other facts.
Gerard Moss finished 3rd at Alvaston by Age Grading, whilst Paul Pearce was 9th, but finished 5th overall 😃. At Markeaton Martin Kerr was only 17 seconds off his PB, as always very consistent Martin. Tim Spate spoilt his 1 second sequence and went 4 seconds quicker this week, so his last 4 runs at Markeaton have been 21:07, 21:06, 21:05, 21:01. Can you go sub 21 this weekend Tim?
Amanda Wilson achieved an awesome milestone this week by completing the Parkrun alphabet by getting her ‘Q’ at Quakers Walk.
From the runners who completed a run this weekend, the ones with most Parkruns are:
Female
1. Samantha James 313, Rachel Farrow 304, Amanda Wilson 218.
Male
1. Tim Spate 368, Kenneth Malton 345, Martin Kerr 293.
If you have any other interesting facts let us know.
Have a great week running everyone 😊!
