The autumn races are in full flow now, so another busy weekend for team Striders. As well as Parkrun, summary to follow, Striders were out and about around the country with representation at Golden Gates Gallop, Robin Hood Half Marathon, Morecambe Marathon, Wirksworth Undulator and Loch Ness Marathon.
A lovely sunny morning on Saturday, if a little chilly – I’m sure there was frost on the ground at Long Eaton, saw 33 Striders at 6 different Parkruns with 1 PB and 6 First Timers, plus a curious little results fact. Liam Regan took 12 seconds off his PB to finish 6th at Markeaton in a time of 18:04. David Green and Louise Hart were at Sewerby, very close to Bridlington. Richard Tissington, Paul James Roome and Amanda Wilson visited Gedling and Hazel Baxter was at Torvean the day before she completed the Loch Ness Marathon.
So now for the curious little fact. Tim Spate’s last 3 Parkruns at Markeaton have been 21:07, 21:06, 21:05. If he continues on that trajectory he should be doing sub 20 again by 2026 🤣. Thanks for the fact Tim.
A soggy couple of days ahead, but it should be ok for next Saturday. Have a great week everyone, and as it’s that time of year – Keep Running!!
