A damp and drizzly Saturday morning didn’t put off 29 Striders hitting the Parkrun paths and trails. Slightly fewer of us than normal but we still managed to tick off 9 venues with 6 PBs and 6 first time visitors, and another first place finisher.
New venues visited this week by Striders included Normanby Hall, where Tim Spate took part for the first time and Sam James got a new PB of 27:00 also. Normanby is also the home of The Hedgehog Half, a lovely small run – well recommended. Lyndsay Wiles was at Whinlatter Forest in Cumbria, and 4 Striders attended Battlestead Croft, Burton, for the first time, they were Brian Thomas, Hannah Cartwright, Steve Cartwright and Sally Cartwright. Rob Higson also got a PB at Battlestead Croft of 24:09. Kenny Malton and Rachel Farrow got PBs at Ashbourne 22:00 and 27:45 respectively. Chris Sharp clocked 23:51 for a new PB at Ganavan Sands in Argyll. Amanda Jackson also got a new PB at Shipley in a time of 37:25, sorry I missed you Amanda!
And our first place finisher was Martin Kerr at Long Eaton in a time of 16:48, just 3 seconds off his PB.
So that’s it for Parkrun world this week. This weekend is set to be a busy one with both Parkrun on Saturday and Wilne 10k on Sunday. The organisers of Wilne are still looking for volunteers so if you can help out please check out their FB page.
Great running from everyone.
