So yet again the mighty Striders broke the 40 barrier mark with exactly 40 of us out and about in Parkrun world on Saturday. From the look of the locations I suspect some were taking advantage of trying new courses whilst on their summer holidays.
Here are the details. We visited 10 different venues and had 2 PBs and 5 first time appearances. Rachel Farrow set a new PB of 26:53 at Perth, I’m assuming the one in Scotland and not Australia! Meanwhile Hazel Baxter was at it again, this time clocking a time of 25:32 at Rushcliffe. Our first timers included Paul James Roome at Colwick where he did a very creditable 20:39, Rob Higson was at Market Harborough, Jethro and Pascale Holden were at Conwy and Naimah Hameed visited Macclesfield.
We also had representation at Markeaton, Long Eaton, Alvaston and Shipley.
At our 2 local Parkruns, Alvaston and Markeaton, we did have some great performances hidden in the stats. Even though Martin Kerr came second at Markeaton, he was first in age grading. And talking of age grading we had 4 of the top 8 at Alvaston. Matt Bailey was third, Gerrard Moss fourth, Brian Thomas seventh and Harry Sloan eighth. Finally, a mention to Liam Regan who was only 6 seconds off his PB at Markeaton in a time of 18:22.
Well done to everyone who ran and all the volunteers too.
