This beautifully warm and sunny Bank Holiday weekend got off to the perfect start for 37 Striders at 7 events, with 13 of us running at our Striders Tourist Trip to Ashbourne Rec! Thanks also to Jamie Atkinson for coming along as part of his bike ride, to cheers us all on!
It was really lovely get together in the sun, we also celebrated Sally Cartwrights 50th parkrun, thanks for bringing the cakes Sal! The warm weather didn’t stop Eamonn Hughes, Paul Phillips and myself getting course PBs, while Richard Jackson, Hazel Baxter, Steve Cartwright (and Poppy!), Hannah Cartwright, Fiona Corden, Charli Land & Amanda Jackson all had their first go at the 3 lapped, grassy course! Fantastic turnout everyone!
Elsewhere, at Markeaton we had a PB and 1st place for Martin Kerr, and a PB and 6th place for Liam Regan! Andy MacEwen came in 2nd place at Rosliston and we also had Ray Evans once again Volunteering at Alvaston, great running chaps and thanks Ray! :)
There was some more good distance tourism going on too, with Amanda Wilson down in the New Forest at Lymington Woodside, and Liz Phillips down with family at Horsham!
