A lovely sunny Easter Saturday morning saw what I think is a record 39 Striders running at 11 events! Thanks very much too Sally Cartwright, Lyndsay Wiles and Ray Evans for all volunteering at Alvaston!
At Alvaston we had some fantastic PBs: Andy Macewen (getting 2nd place too!), Luke Inglis and Dave Sullivan (in the middle of Marathon training too!). Jamie Atkinson came in 4th place, just narrowly missing out on a PB by 2 secs, and Liam Regan celebrated becoming a Strider with 6th place! Well done, great running folks!
Martin Kerr made the switch from Markeaton to Shipley this week, but still managed another 1st place! Paul Pearce came in with a nice 6th place at Markeaton!
There were some great tourist trips being made too, with Chris Halliday at Scunthorpe and Sam James & Tim Spate just down the road from Chris at Ancholme Valley! Amanda Wilson was up in the lakes near Keswick for her location #74 at Whinlatter Forest, Hazel Baxter at Beacon in Lichfield, Eamonn Hughes & family up in Whitby at the Cinder Track and Leo Pickford down at Wimbledon Common! Brilliant folks, always good to see these new tourist locations popping up!
Remember it’s our next round of the Parkrun Championships at Alvaston next weekend (not this weekend as some thought!) then we have our Tourist Trip to Shipley on 29th April!
