A superb parkrunning weekend for Striders the morning after our Club Awards night! It saw 34 Striders running at 5 events!
At Alvaston it was our Striders Parkrun Championships again, with a massive 28 runners and our lovely volunteers Sally Cartwright, Raymond Evans, Louise Hart, Matthew Henning, Angela Monk & Liz Phillips all marshalling out on the course, and giving us all lots of support as we ran – thanks very much folks!
Our Parkrun Championship leader Charli Land again doing a brilliant job and offering bonus points for us estimating our times and running ‘naked’ (watchless!) plus bonus points for PBs!
This prompted a great PB & record-breaking day – congratulations to:
- Matt Bailey who got 4th place, a PB and a new club MV50 record!
- Jamie Atkinson completely smashed his existing MV55 club record!
- Gerrard Moss our coaching guru and new ‘Club Person of the Year’ got his PB.
- Lyndsay Butcher wasn’t too up for it on the start line (after a couple of drinks at the Presentation Night), but then went and smashed her PB!
- The Cartwrights had a good day with Hannah Cartwright yet again getting another PB and Poppy Cartwright coming in 1st Dog at her first attempt at Alvaston, whilst dragging her Dad Steve around with her!
Elsewhere, Luke Inglis equalled his PB with a brilliant sub 20 run at Long Eaton. Well deserved after some excellent recent track training. Hazel Baxter had her first go at Conkers as did Amanda Jackson at up at Redcar!
Phew! Well done everyone brilliant running!
Also, our Club Parkrun Tourist Spinner has spun once again, sending us off to Rosliston Parkrun later this month, a good chance for a new parkrun for some of us I think!
