This week it was our latest Striders Tourist Trip, this time to Watermead Country Park just North of Leicester.
6 Striders (and Rich Jackson’s Mum, Amanda :) ) made the journey, we had a lovely morning celebrating Rich’s birthday on the day and Dave Sullivans the previous day – Happy Birthday both of you!
Sharon Sullivan had kindly baked lots of lovely cakes which were much appreciated at the post-run debrief :)
The course was a good one, on tarmac paths around the various lakes in the park. The thought of cake also spurred Rich Jackson, Sharon Sullivan and Charli Land into getting their PB’s – well done folks, a great morning! Thanks Charli for organising once again!
Elsewhere we had Martin Kerr back doing what he does best and getting another 1st place at Markeaton. Jamie Atkinson also got another MV55 club record at Markeaton, knocking 2 secs off his previous record – well done Jamie!
Volunteering we had Dave Keegan at Long Eaton and at Alvaston we had Tim Bentley and Ray Evans – thanks very much all of you!
Hope to see lots of you in a couple of hours time down at the Cross Country at Boothorpe/Conkers! Also good luck to everyone who’s running at the re-arranged Bolsover 10k today, go Striders!
