Race Results – Erewash Valley RC – “The Run” 4 mile – Breaston – 27th July 2022

Last night 4 of us Striders made the short journey to the nice pub ‘The Navigation’ on the old Canal Path at Breaston, to take part in “The Run” 4 miler, organised by Erewash Valley RC. What a cracking little race it turned out to be, with 163 runners giving it a go!

Starting and finishing at the pub, it had a steady climb as we approached Risley, but then a nice downhill section before flattening out for a fast finish along the old Canal path, back to the pub!

We lined up ‘against’ Team GB Gold Medallist Gemma Steel, who came 2nd place to the lightning fast Aston Perrin from Long Eaton RC. A thoroughly enjoyable evening for everyone, made even better by some new club records being set! Congratulations to Liz Phillips for the 4 mile FV50 record, Paul Phillips MV60 record and myself ;) for the MV50 record! Sorry to Matt for missing out, shame we weren’t all in different categories :) Bear with me for the club records update on the website, I need to create a new page :D

Thanks for a great evening folks, I’ll definitely do that race again :)
