Robin Hood 100 – 16th September 2017

Sam Pearch took on this Ultra – his first 100 mile event (which had a 30 hour cut-off) and had this to say:-

I finished 15th in 23 hours 22 mins, I am absolutely over the moon with what I’ve done – the target was to finish but to get under 24 hours I have amazed myself.

Felt very down at 42 mile but tried to concentrate and at the same time knowing I would see Catherine Pearch and the kids at 47 mile, plus my parents and Tod Pearch were there – amazing they came to see me.

Thank you so much to my support runners Patrick Munro and Matt Bailey, things really picked up when they came I started to find a rhythm – run 10 mins, walk 2.

The last 20 miles were horrible, 16 miles of it on the canal – very uneven rutted paths on 80 mile legs. Running at night time and early hours of the morning is a very surreal experience.

Thank you so much for all the support and messages.
