• Wednesday Night Training

    Wednesday Training takes place from 6pm – 7pm

    Non members/New runners are welcome, please Contact Us and we will ensure you are made to feel welcome

    All members are welcome to join the sessions, as are non-members/guests who would like to give them ago. However, there are a few things to note.
    * If you have not been to Wednesday night training before (including members) you will need to arrange to have an induction with one of the coaching team in advance of the session.
    * Non-members/guests must sign-in with the coaching team and provide emergency contact info.
    * Juniors under 12 must be supervised by a parent or designated guardian throughout the session, i.e. running with them or maintaining line of sight.
    * Juniors under 16 must be signed in/out at each session by a parent or designated guardian.
    * Juniors aged 16-18 must have signed parental consent, which is a one-off.
    Please try and arrive punctually and be ready to run by 6pm. Latecomers must seek permission of the relevant coach before joining a session.

    Summer Training (Darley Park)

    * The cost of the sessions is free for members and £2 for non-members (who can attend for up to 3 sessions before making a decision on membership, with the first session free).

    From April to the end of September (until it gets too dark!) the Wednesday training takes place at Darley Park and more often than not includes hill work. We meet at the Abbey Pub end of the park. There is car parking available opposite the pub and we meet at a large tree about 100 metres into the park.

    After training we migrate to the Abbey pub for some well earned refreshment.

    Training in the summer is free for Members and £2.00 for guests.

    Note: Guest’s first week is free, a further 3 weeks are available at £2 per session, subsequent training requires membership at Social Level. Membership forms are available on the night from the Coaches

    Winter Training (Moorways track)

    * The cost of the sessions is £1 for members and £3 for non-members (who can attend for up to 3 sessions before making a decision on membership, with the first session free).

    From October to the end of March (check the Calendar) during the dark nights of Winter the Wednesday training takes place under the floodlights at Moorways’ Athletics Track in Allenton. If you are new to Shelton Striders or this is your first time visiting the track can you  identify yourself to one of the coaches prior to 6pm, someone is normally around.

    Please read the Track Rules prior to running on the track.

    Nominal Charge of £1 for Members towards the cost of hiring the track. £3 per session for guests
