On a very hot day David Askew started this event and took on the 100k non-stop version. His first 50k he completed in 6:56:19 (about 3pm). It must have been getting pretty warm by then but he carried on to finish the second 50k in 10:02:04 – and a fair chunk of that time must have been in the dark. A total time of 16:58:24 saw him finish in 408th out of a field of 895 finishers (so far). Currently there are about 150 DNFs or no-shows at the 100k point (just gone home informing no-one?) A high rate of attrition on a very hot weekend.
