A great result for the Striders at the Annual Derby Masters Relays on 9th July! In good conditions the 2.5K course made up of 2 laps of the grounds round Moorways was nicely varied between track, tarmac, grass and woodland. We only managed to enter 2 teams this year, one L35 and one M35, but both came away with their age category prizes!
The men’s team, consisting of Patrick Munro, Brian Thomas, Steve Hawkins and Steve Emerton were second overall and first M35.
The ladies’ team, consisting of Pascale Holden, Rebecca Emerton and Carolyn Derbyshire were the first ladies team to finish and also contained the fastest 2 ladies of the evening.
Next year’s event will be 8th July 2015. Let’s plan in advance and get a few more teams in. It’s a surprisingly relaxed event, well worth giving a go (if you’re old enough)
